Friguls v. City of Coral Gables, No. 2016-91-AP, 2022 WL 334099 (Fla. 11th Cir. Ct. Oct. 18, 2016)
We served as lead counsel in the iconic transformation of a one-story old hotel into a vibrant mixed-use and transit oriented development comprising 245 hotel rooms, 204 residential dwelling units, three restaurants, and ground-floor retail.
Every aspect of the development was prohibited by the then-existing regulatory regime.
Together with the preeminent development at NR International and acclaimed architect Professor Jorge Hernandez, we drafted as series of text amendments to the City of Coral Gables’s land development regulations, represented the development team throughout the public hearing approval process for the suite of amendments that were necessary for the project, and successfully defended the litigation and appellate challenges that ensued.
