Jeff Bass serves as a juror at Yale University’s School of Architecture Advanced Design Studio
The Yale School of Architecture, Adib Cure, and Carie Penabad invited Founding Partner Jeffrey Bass to serve as a juror in the Advanced Design Studio entitled Miami Made – Housing in the Tropics. The studio is engaged in a master planning exploration of design for the tropics with an emphasis on the discovery of new housing typologies, affordability, and resiliency. Jeff was invited due to his expertise in land use law and the regulatory issues that confront innovative design.
Jeff described the studio’s work as – in equal measures – “artful, ingenious, and invigorating.” Jeff was privileged to serve alongside Yale professor, author, architectural historian, and urbanist Elihu Rubin and University of Miami professor, architect, preservationist, and architectural historian Jorge Hernandez. Jeff described the experience as humbling and hopeful. He concluded by stating “With professors and students like these, we are in good hands!
