To honor Earth Day, we spotlight the work of those scientists and students at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment who are working to better the planet for all of us. Our founder, Jeffrey Bass, recently attended a board meeting at the Nicholas School that showcased the evolving interplay between AI, satellite imagery, remote sensing technology, and drone imagery. Individually and collectively, these new technologies are palpably shaping climate science. We are so proud of this ongoing research at the Nicholas School that deploys these advanced technologies to track and model the rates of photosynthesis in our oceans, track and predict shark behavior, and monitor the health and whereabouts of orphaned elephants. This is just some of the incredible work at the Nicholas School – more posts coming – stay tuned!
