We were moved in an extraordinary way by our review of the applications for the Miami-Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL) Foundation Scholarships. The applicants each shared the heroic, gritty, and courageous path that they travelled through life and to law school. We couldn’t choose just one Bass Law Scholar. So we did the reasonable thing — we selected five! It is our great honor to support these remarkable law students, each of whom demonstrated financial need, community involvement, and academic excellence.
The MDFAWL Foundation provides educational opportunities for women in the legal field and grants over $10,000 in scholarships annually. This year’s applicants showed extraordinary passion, sacrifice, and dedication to our country, our community, and the legal profession. The scholarship recipients are Brannon Bailey, Jo’Anna C., Ivania Teran, Brianna Allen, and Casey Gale — five remarkable women of superlative achievement.
