Bass Law recently hosted a senior design studio from the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture for a round-table discussion (over coffee)(of course) about the regulatory, market, and climate forces that shape coastal redevelopment within South Florida. The students stopped by the offices en route to the Florida Keys where they traveled to examine housing tropical housing typologies within the as-built environment as well as those geographic and environmental forces that restrict transit options for the Florida Keys. Further discussion points involved the role of insurance, reinsurance, and mortgage lending within climate vulnerable communities. We at the firm remain steadfast in our commitment to help young leaders better understand the interplay between law, climate, and design.
